Requirements for the Employer

As industry leaders in work-based learning, Edinburgh Napier University adopt a delivery model designed to minimise time out of the workplace.  In Year one the teaching is delivered over 27 days off the job. In Years 2 and 3 the programme shifts to a blended learning approach and will operate on a 'day a month' release, resulting in 9 days off the job each year. Students are supported through directed learning delivered through Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment.


Employers must select a work-based mentor who can support the student on a day to day basis and, where possible, align their academic study with workplace tasks and projects.  Edinburgh Napier University and Gradworks will also provide mentoring support and conduct regular visits to review progress, agree targets and discuss any concerns or issues.
